Field Trip For Acorns

Today, the students from the Tulip, Tanpopo and Rabbit classes went on a field trip to Fushimi Kitabori Park to collect acorns. Students arrived at school in their sports clothes and were asked to bring plastic bags to use to carry all of the acorns they would find.

The students were very excited whilst on the school bus travelling to the park. They were all debating how many acorns they would collect and also discussing other things they might see and gather whilst there.

Upon arrival, the students were amazed by the Fushimi-momoyama Castle located at the park’s main entrance. The castle would be the start and finish point of today’s trip.

There was a main trail that led around the park. Along the way, the students could admire the autumn leaves and the various different types of plants within park. All of the students were able to find many acorns to put in their plastic bags. However, many students also collected leaves and anything else that they found interesting.

After we made it all the way around the trail, we stopped to have something to drink next to the Castle. We could spend one last moment to appreciate the beautiful surroundings of the park. All of the students were delighted with all of the acorns they found and everything else they gathered in their plastic bags before heading back to school.
