Today, all of the students on the international courses at Ishida took part in a trick-or-treating event.

Trick-or-treating is one of the main parts of the Halloween tradition. Thus, we decided to prepare such an activity for our students.

In the morning, children from the Rabbit, Bear, and Lion classes all assembled together in the Rabbit classroom. They were organised into four mixed groups, and each group was appointed a leader. The leader of each team would guide the others around the different rooms.

After singing a Halloween song, the children prepared to set off by saying in a big voice, “Let’s go trick-or-treating!!” Making sure that they had their trick-or-treat bags with them, off they went!

The foreign teachers had all prepared a fancy dress costume for the event.

Daniel sensei was a jack-o’-lantern, Dom’s sensei was a vampire, and I was a skeleton. We hid in different rooms on the first floor.

The students had to enter each room and find the “monsters”. After individually saying “trick or treat”, they could get a stamp on a special Halloween card. They needed to collect a total of four stamps (three from the foreign teachers, and one from Encho sensei).

Many of the children were very brave to enter the rooms and could speak out with a big voice. Equally, many were really scared of the spooky Halloween “monsters”!!!

When displaying a card full of four stamps, everyone could receive a special, colourful, craft lollipop!!!

I’m sure that the Halloween event had given the students a good taste of what trick-or-treating is like in many foreign countries.

The real Halloween will fall on this Saturday. I hope that you will all have a funny, scary, spooky, weird, and exciting time on this day!

（今日，インターナショナルコースの子ども達はハロウィーンパーティーに参加しました。ハロウィーンといえば「トリック・オア・トリート！」とお菓子をねだりに行く楽しいイベント。この日のイベントのために，子ども達と準備をしてきました。

朝，ラビット組，ベアー組，ライオン組の子ども達は，ラビット組のお部屋に集まりました。学年混合の４つのグループに分かれ，リーダーを決めました。子ども達はリーダーを中心に行くところを決め，グループごとに歩き回ります。

ハロウィーンの歌をみんなで歌い，大きな声で「トリック・オア・トリートに行こう！」と言ったら準備完了。自分で作ったハロウィーンバッグを持って，出発です。

３人の外国人の先生たちは素敵な「モンスター」に変身しました。ダニエル先生はジャック・オ・ランタン，ドムス先生は吸血鬼，そして私はガイコツです。そして，１階の３か所のお部屋に分かれて隠れ，子ども達が来るのを待ちました。

子ども達は暗いお部屋の中に入り「モンスター」を探します。一人ずつ「トリック・オア・トリート！」と言うと，先生たちにハロウィーンカードにスタンプを押してもらいました。外国人の先生３人と園長先生にスタンプをもらい，全部で４つのスタンプを集めました。

多くの子ども達はとても勇敢で，大きな声で「トリック・オア・トリート！」と言うことが出来ました。そして，ハロウィーンの不気味なモンスターたちを見て，とても怖がっていました！！

４つスタンプを集めたみんなは，パーティーの最後に，先生たち手作りの，カラフルで特別なキャンディーをもらいました！

ハロウィーンは，たくさんの国で子ども達に楽しまれているイベントです。

今年のハロウィーンは土曜日にあります。みんなにとって，おかしくて，怖くて，不気味で，変で，そしてとても楽しい日になるといいですね。
