Today was the last school day before the summer holiday.

The first term of this year seems to have passed by very quickly.

The children will have many days away from school. They will have to find plenty of activities to fill these days.

I think that it is good for the children to be able to spend lots of time with their families and friends outside of the school environment.

The children should enjoy their time away from school. They can, at first, feel excited and happy. They can relax. They can have great fun. Then they can feel calm. Finally, they can even feel bored!!

In the morning, we had an assembly for all the students. It was to conclude this term and to explain about the holiday period.

It will be hot weather, so the children need to drink plenty of water and tea. Fizzy drinks, juice, ice cream, and snow cones should only be eaten infrequently, and in small quantities. Be sure that they wear a hat when outside in the sun. Also, they must be careful not to go off with strangers when away from their parents.

We sang the popular Japanese children’s song, “Aye Aye”. It is about a monkey (lemur) with a long tail.

We also said farewell to Ishimura sensei. He has been the headmaster at Ishida Kindergarten for many years, but will be leaving at the end of July.

（今日は終業式でした。

今年度の1学期はあっという間に終わってしまったようです。

子どもたちは長いお休みに入ります。子どもたちはこの期間を埋める過ごし方を考えなければいけませんね。

私は、子どもたちが家族や園外のお友達と過ごせることはとてもいいと思います。

子どもたちは、盛り上がったり、幸せを感じたり、リラックスしたり、楽しんだり、落ち着いたり、最後には退屈になったりしながらお休みを楽しんでほしいです。

今日の朝、全園児の集会がありました。これは、今学期を締めくくり、夏休み期間について伝えるためのものです。

暑いお天気になるので、子どもたちはお茶やお水を飲むことが大切です。

冷たいジュースやアイスクリーム、かき氷はたまに、少しだけとるようにしましょう。

そしてお外に出るときは帽子をかぶり、絶対に知らない人についていかないようにしてください。

 

また、子どもたちはしっぽの長いおさるさんのお歌、「アイアイ」を歌いました。

そして、長年園長先生として石田幼稚園のために働いてくださった石村先生が7月末で退職されるため、みんなでお別れをしました。
