This week was extra exciting for us in the Bear Class- we all got try using a para-balloon in our Sports Class! We had seen it during Sports Day when we were in the younger class, but this was our first time holding it, playing with it, and learning how to move it together.

To start, we warmed up our bodies with some stretches and short races to get our bodies ready. Then our teacher showed us how to hold the para-balloon, palms facing down and gripping the balloon as tight as we can. Next we learned about different stances and arm positions to help us stay strong and steady. We stood up, bent our knees in a squat position, walked in different directions, and raised our arms up and down.

Then came the fun part- team shapes! We made a “pudding” by lifting the balloon high and quickly pulling it down in a squat position to trap the air inside. We also spun in circle while raising our non-working hand up to make “merry-go-round”. We also tried making a “rocket” by raising the balloon high, walked a few paces forward then quickly walked back down. Everyone was smiling, laughing, and working together!

It was such a fun and colorful day with the para-balloon! We felt proud that both Bear Class and Momo Class worked together as a team and listened carefully to make all the shapes. We can’t wait to try it again soon!
