Today, a mobile zoo visited Ishida Kindergarten.

The animals arrived at the rear of the school and were kept in a fenced area, or on a tether.

There were goats, sheep, a pig, a pony, rabbits, guinea pigs, a mouse, and a snake.

Children had the chance to not only look at the animals, but to stroke them, hold them, and feed them.

A variety of foodstuffs were fed to the animals, including: carrots, cabbages,

spinach, giant radishes, apples, bananas, and bread.

Most of the animals were calm, but the children still had to follow rules to safely feed and touch the animals.

At the beginning, the children seemed to be eagerly anticipating the arrival of the zoo.

But, when they entered the pen, some got quite nervous next to the animals.

Perhaps the pig, sheep and goats look a little large compared to them!

The snake seemed to fascinate many of the children. It was also quite scary.

Not many children volunteered to wear the snake as a scarf!!

I think that the children who had the snake put around their necks were very brave!!

It was really great that the visiting young children

and their parents also had the chance to experience the mobile zoo.

They were attending Ishida for the English event.

I hope that they had an enjoyable time at the zoo, as well as at the event.

By the end of the day, all the animals were so full. The students had done a good job of feeding them.

I did notice, though, that the pony did not like to eat giant radish!

 

（今日は幼稚園に移動動物園が来てくれました。

動物たちは園庭に到着し、柵の中にいれられたりヒモでつながれたりしました。

ヤギや羊、豚、子馬、ウサギ、モルモット、ネズミ、ヘビが来てくれましたよ。

子どもたちは、ただ見るだけでなく、なでたり、抱っこしたり、エサをあげたりすることができました。

動物たちはニンジンやキャベツ、ホウレンソウ、大根、リンゴ、バナナ、パンなどを食べさせてもらいました。

ほとんどの動物は大人しかったのですが、安全に触ったりエサをあげるためにもきちんとお約束を聞いて守りました。

はじめは、子どもたちは動物園の到着を心待ちにしていたように見えましたが、いざ柵のところに着くと動物の横でとても緊張している子どももいました。

きっと豚や羊、ヤギが自分たちより大きく見えたんでしょうね。

 

中でもヘビは子どもたちを魅了していたように見えました。さらにとても怖かったです。少しのお友達だけ、ヘビをスカーフのように首に巻きましたよ！

私にとってはヘビを首に巻くなんて、とても勇敢な子どもたちです！

 

また、未就園児教室の英語遊びに来ていたお友達もお家の方と一緒に移動動物園に参加することができて、とても楽しかったです。

小さなお友達も移動動物園と、えいごあそびを楽しんでくれていたら嬉しいです。

 

最後には、動物たちはおなかいっぱいになり、子どもたちのエサやりは大成功に終わりました。

ただ、私は子馬は大根が嫌いだということに気付いてしまいましたが…！）
