We are now in the second week of the new term and all of the students have settled back into the everyday school routine. Throughout September each year group will be practicing for Sports Day and so far everyone has been doing so well. We have practiced marching, relay race and also how to complete the obstacle course. The student’s coordination has improved so much and they are having fun challenging themselves to successfully complete each event.

For the past few days the Rabbit class have continued to challenge themselves but this time with reading. They are now choosing books to read individually at the table. Even if they are currently unable to understand all of the content, they can recognize the different letters of the alphabet and with the pictures also describe what they can see in English.

Today was day number two for Ishida Kindergarten’s open day event. The first being on Saturday in the hall,  but this time was on a weekday. That meant the families visiting could enter each classroom and observe the curriculum being taught and experience first hand the everyday school life. The students enjoyed having an audience and sharing what they have learnt so far. Everyone was well behaved but most importantly they were excited to interact with new people. We are looking forward to welcome the new students who will start in April of next year.

（もう新しい学期の2週目になり，子ども達も毎日の園生活のリズムを取り戻してきたようです。9月はどの学年も運動会の練習をしており，みんなとても頑張っています。行進やリレー，障害物競争などを練習しています。子ども達の動きはとてもよくなり，どの行事も成功させようと楽しく取り組んでいます。

この数日間，ラビット組はいろいろと挑戦してきましたが，今はリーディング（読み）に挑戦しています。最近は自分たちで絵本を選び机で読んでいます。すべての内容を理解できなくてもアルファベットの文字と絵の違いに気付いたり，何が見えるか英語で表現したりできます。

そして今日は石田幼稚園の2回目の公開保育，説明会でした。1回目は土曜日にお遊戯室で行われ，今日は平日の開催でした。よって来てくださった家族の方は各クラスに入り，毎日の様子や保育の様子を見学することができました。子ども達はお客様がいることや学んでいることをお見せすることを楽しんでいました。みんなとてもお行儀よく，何より新しい方たちに嬉しそうに触れ合っていたのがよかったです。来年の4月に新しいお友達をお迎えすることを楽しみに待っていますね！
