Sports Day is rapidly approaching!

This year it will be held on Saturday, 29th September. Hopefully, many parents and others (relatives, friends and new students) will be able to attend it now that it is taking place on the weekend.

The children have been practicing for many days in this month. They have many routines, songs, races, and event scripts to remember. It is quite a busy month fitting all this in with all our other tasks!

Everyone has been trying really hard to do their best. Of course, it is somewhat difficult for the young children to form lines and to walk in the correct order. Many times some of them forgot who they should be following and the lines became rather jumbled up! Often I heard teachers asking students who they should be behind. The children had blank faces and were surprised by such a question!

In the International (Rabbit) class we have been doing our own bit of practice at lining up and at racing. I tried to give them a few simple tips to increase their speed. I hope they will remember them on the actual day. In the noise and excitement they might easily lose their concentration!

I am sure that Sports Day will be a great day. Whether children come first or last in a race does not matter. Everyone will be a winner just for taking part!!

 

（運動会がもうすぐそこに！

今年は土曜日の9月29日に行われます。

週末に開催するので、たくさんの家族や親せき、新しいお友達が参加してくれることを願っています。

今月子どもたちはたくさん練習をしてきています。歌や競争、はじまりの言葉などたくさん繰り返しています。

どれもこなすためにとても忙しい月ですね。

みんなベストを尽くすためにとても一生懸命頑張っています。

もちろん幼いお友達には順番に並び、そのまま行進することは少し難しいです。

何度も誰についていくのか忘れてしまい、列がぐちゃぐちゃになってしまうことも。

先生が何度も「誰の後ろだった？」と聞いていました。

そして子どもたちはそんな質問に驚いたように目が点になっていましたよ。

ラビット組ではかけっこと整列の自主練習を少ししました。

私は子どもたちに早くゴールするためのコツを少し教えたのですが、当日思い出してくれることを祈っています。

騒音と興奮で集中力が奪われがちですからね。

運動会当日は素晴らしい1日になるでしょう！競争に勝っても負けても関係ありません。

しっかりと参加することでもう100点満点です！）
