Potatoes and Carrots.

Students in year 3 at Ishida Kindergarten have been pulling up vegetables that have been grown at the school. On Wednesday, both Lion class pupils and Tsubaki class pupils gathered together to pull up potatoes and carrots.
The vegetables had been planted and tended to by the school’s bus drivers, and were growing in planting boxes located at the side of the school.
Students gathered around these planters, and could then take turns at pulling up the plants in pairs.
Everyone was so excited to see how many potatoes they would find on the roots of their plant. It was often considered to be the very best if many big potatoes were found!
By the end, we had pulled up a large amount of potatoes and carrots. It was a really successful harvest!!
These vegetables will be used to prepare a special curry at the summer event for all the final-year students.
I am sure that the potatoes and carrots will be especially delicious and flavourful!!
