For one of this month’s topics in the International class we are studying body parts.

Head, face, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth/tooth, hair, shoulders, arms, hands, fingers, tummy, legs, feet/foot, toes, etc.

We are learning the vocabulary together with some simple phrases, such as: “Touch your ……!”, or “Don’t touch your ……!”

Our game, today, was to make complete monkey bodies from two sets of monkey body parts that I had prepared beforehand. The students had to listen to me ask for a body part, and then go and select the correct piece. They could then build the pieces into full monkeys.

The monkeys provided a good, humorous activity to keep the children interested in the topic. I made sure that there were a few twists to make in more fun, such as providing some simple colour shapes that they could use as eyes, noses, belly buttons, and such like. Maybe heart eyes and a star nose!

When they had completed the bodies, they tried to pose in a similar way to the monkeys that they had created. It was a little diificult, as the monkeys had got their hands and feet swapped over!!

頭、顔、目、耳、鼻、口、歯、髪、肩、腕、手、指、おなか、足、つま先など…

そして簡単な「タッチして」「タッチしないで」といったフレーズも一緒に学んでいます。

今日のゲームは私が作ったおサルの体を完成させるものでした。

子どもたちは私が言うボディーパーツを聞き、正しいものを取りに行き、それで体を完成させました。

おサルのおかげで子どもたちは楽しく興味を持つことができました。

さらにおもしろくするために目や鼻、おへそなどをカラフルな色で作り少しひねって取り組んでみました。

ハートの目や星の鼻になるかも…？

おサルの体が完成すると、同じポーズになれるか試してみました。

でもみんなが作ったおサルは手と足が入れ替わってしまっていたので少し難しかったです！

このおとぼけなおサルたち、かわいいでしょう？）
