Today we have been for a half-day trip to Momoyama Castle, and Kitabori Park.

We travelled to the area on two of the school buses, and entered the park through the gate of Momoyama Castle. I have never been to this castle before, and was surprised by its size and presence. It was larger than I had expected!

We could walk around the park and look at autumnal nature. There were many wild trees and plants to be seen. Two of the main items that we could find on the ground were acorns and fallen leaves. Many leaves had already changed their colour to yellows, reds, oranges, and browns, but the full autumnal colours are not yet at their peak.

The children were mainly interested in finding acorns. They all carried plastic bags so that they could collect as many acorns as possible. There were green acorns, light brown acorns, dark brown acorns, and a few black acorns. Some were a mix of green and brown, and some were even stripy. Some were big, some were small, some were long, and some could be found still inside their cups.

How many acorns did you collect? How many brown ones? How many are there still sitting in their cups?

The children enjoyed the walk in Kitabori Park, and really concentrated on searching out as many acorns as possible!

（今日私たちは北堀公園と桃山城へ半日のおでかけをしました。

２台のバスで桃山城の駐車場を通って公園に入りました。

私は桃山城へ来たことがなかったので、大きさと存在に驚きました。予想以上の大きさでした！

あたりをお散歩して秋の自然を見ることができました。

たくさんの木や植物が見られ、地面で見つけられたメインのものはどんぐりと落ち葉でした。

多くの葉っぱは黄色や赤色、オレンジ色、茶色に変わっていましたが、紅葉はまだピークではありませんでした。

子どもたちはほぼどんぐり拾いに興味があり、ビニール袋にできるだけたくさんのどんぐりをいれられるように持っていました。

緑色や薄い茶色、濃い茶色、少し黒色のどんぐりがあり、たまに緑と茶色が混ざっていたり、ストライプになっているものもありました。

大きいものや小さいもの、長いものや帽子をかぶったままのどんぐりなどがありました。

子どもたちは北堀公園の散歩を楽しみ、とても集中してどんぐり拾いをしていましたよ。）
